About Continuing the Mission

Established in March of 2016, Continuing the Mission (CTM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization providing fully trained Assistance Dogs at no cost to qualifying Veterans. We have established a birth-to-placement model that immerses our dogs in continuous social and functional activities starting at 8-10 weeks of age.

Our immersion model ensures that our dogs are continuously in a social setting, being exposed to as many different aspects of life as possible. We also look for opportunities for our dogs to give back throughout their two year training period by participating in numerous events that support CTM Veterans and the larger Veteran community.

Continuing the Mission is operated by a team of dedicated volunteers who make our partnership with a purpose successful.

About Your Photographer

Emiko Mizumoto is a certified and award-winning photographer for pets and kids and PPA (Professional Photography of America) member. She believes that pets make people happier and bring more joy to them.  She has two miniature Dachshunds, named KAB and Bella, to prove it!  They are furry bundles of love, loyalty, and boundless joy. They also teach her incredible life lessons every day.

She started to take photographs when she was a young girl. As she grew up, cameras were always available to her.  When she got her first dog, KAB, as an adult, she started documenting his life through photographs.

KAB got a serious illness, cancer when he was 7-year-old. Emiko began to photograph him with more intention and purpose as a way to preserve memories of him through a visual medium. She started to wonder if other pet owners were thinking the same way. So that is how she started to take photographs of other pets and their human companions.  The bond between pets and their owners is one of unconditional love.  Emiko captures the soul and essence of this bond in her photography!

Emiko is so talented! As well as the final fantastic pictures, she treated my dog very well! My dog was camera shy, but NO more!!! My dog won’t turn around when I try to take his picture! Highly recommended!

Emiko is a wonderful photographer. She is professional and personable. Pets love her and she will work with your pet to bring out the best for photos. I had a hard time choosing from all the awesome photos of my dog. And she volunteers to take photos for the Humane Society of York County and donates her time and products to other fundraisers. What a special photographer!

Emiko is fun, easygoing, professional, kind and patient. She had to deal with two uncooperative subjects and handled it with grace and ease. Would definitely recommend. Final proofs coming soon!
